I think the "Dark Knight Mega-thread" is enough of a litmus test to tell you where this is going to go.

Personally..... I'd say The Dark Knight was better...... but don't feel the need to watch either of them again.

The Dark Knight for me cuz from all the hype from this movie ot lived up to its expectations...but i was hearing all these good things bout Iron Man but when i watched it it wasnt as good as everyone said it was...but still a good movie

Oh man, tough choice here. I was blown away by Iron Man and it exceeding my expectations by 1000 percent. Dark Knight was mind blowingly good (escpecially the first viewing) and it too exceeded my expectations even though they were sky high already for it. I voted for Dark Knight. Love them both though and they are two different types of movies. Iron Man is great to watch if your in the mood for some awesome action and fun popcorn flick. Dark Knight is great if your in the mood for more of a character driven movie and crime drama.

Dark Knight was good, but it fell apart at the end, Iron man was strong all the way through.

It is not a "standard model or guide" of movies, so you're wrong there. Scholars won't be looking back in 20 years and referencing Dark Knight as to how to make their movies. If you disagree, that's your right to do so but it's more fanboyism than anything.

It's also not "modeled upon or imitating the style or thought of ancient Greece and Rome" far from it.

"Traditional or typical"? Not by a long shot.

"of the first or highest quality, class, or rank" Nope, again wrong. Dark Knight isn't more or less classy than Iron Man {it's considerably less when you actually think about it, Iron Man could be seen by more of a family than the Dark Knight}

So, I'm not sure what you're reading into the word "classic" that I'm not, but the Dark Knight isn't a 'Classic' in any stretch of the imagination. It may be destined to be a classic {in 20 or so years} but as of right now, it's a movie, and no amount of rampant fanboyism is going to change that.

Because of the writing.

They should have left it that Two-Face became the villain in the next movie.
