Default Velodyne Sub or any suggestions

I recently bought B&W 683 for fronts and 686's for surrounds. I did not buy a subwoofer as part of my set up. Since the speakers hurt me (not to bad) financially I'll be subless for some time. I have heared that the DLS 4000 and 5000 and those were the two I thought of. But my bank account is going to hurt again after this purchase. but my ears are going to be .

Start saving your money. Once you have saved around $400 or more, make a decision. My recommendation is for two subs of reasonable quality. They will outperform a single sub. In the meantime, read the experiences of others about their subwoofers. This is the Master List of Subwoofer Owners Thread.

I agree two subs! For the money I think two Outlaw Audio LMF-1-EX http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/lfmEX.html that has a 350 watt amp with a 12" sub that can put out great sound both for music and movies down to 16 HZ. $649 each free shipping.

I dont have two subs (sounds like an awesome idea though) but I do own a Velodyne DPS-12. It pounds like crazy. Great sub. If you decide to go with only one sub, def. check this one out. I know you wont be sorry!

I would save up and choose from any of the following:

JL Audio Fathom F113
Martin Logan Descent
SVS PB13-Ultra
Paradigm SUB15
Velodyne DD-15
Elemental Designs A7-900
Epik Conquest
AV123 MFW-15 duals
Axiom Audio EP-600

If you can get two, more power to you.

Thumbs up

Congrats on your 600 series purchase. I have the 683's for the fronts and the 686's for the surrounds. You will have a lot of fun. I just ordered a Velodyne Optimum 12 sub. Do you have the 600 series center channel ? I have the smaller of the two centers from B&W's 600 series.

Cool Damaged Speakers

I have the "smaller" (I use the term loosly) B&W smaller 600 center. I actually went back to the store I got my other speakers from, and one was damaged in transportation. Guess I will have to roll with my sweet 3.0 set for know. When my undamaged speakers come in I will likely look something like this or maybe even like this.

I am thinking about getting a Rotel Amp to power my speakers, instead of my Pioneer Eliet. But we wil have to see.
