Paramount needs to start going with Lossless sound. It sucks that Face/Off will probably end up with regular old Dolby Digital, and what sucks worse is that they'll be releasing Transformers. Now that movie NEEDS the lossless sound.

I heard a rumour that Top Gun will have LPCM on Blu-ray and TrueHD on HD DVD. Not sure how likely this is to happen, though I believe it was the same source that said Flags would be AVC like 3 or 4 months ago and that panned out.

So there is hope going forward for lossless on Paramount.

I think as time goes by we will see a convergence of features, hopefully towards BD 50 AVC with lossless audio, as the studios compete more with each other and there are more purchasing options.

I thought the movie was ok, nothing great. It's not a movie in my must have list. I would rent the movie before buying just to make sure you'll like it. The movie had some great landscape views, which will look great on BD.

i saw this ans 300 same day and the people who were with me we all agreed we liked it better then 300 but thats just a point of view

i realy hope they dont make a hd-dvd port on blu-ray
