Region B/C Disc in my USA PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

I want to buy "Day the Earth Stood Still" from England because it wold only cost about $30 US counting shipping and I get a kick out of sampling extra languages.

Will a Region B and C disc play in my American Playstation 3?

No. The American PS3 is Region A only, so you need Region A or Region ABC (or the rare AB or AC) titles.

You can probably get the U.S. version for the same price. Or much more likely less, if you shop around.

I can get the US version for less but all those Russian, Italian, etc... language tracks would have been cool

Yea most likely it wont play in your ps3. i was also thinking about getting some other region movies for this same reason but decided not too as it probably wont play.

The Canadian version is currently $19.99 CAD on amazon.ca. That's about $15.51 in U.S. dollars, and Canada is in region A. I'm not sure about the language options on the Canadian disc, but I don't know why they wouldn't all be the same.
