I rented it form my local Blockbuster. The game is amazing. The graphics are razor sharp(it supports 1080p), and the gameplay doesn't suck, unlike Dead Man's Chest. I highly recommend renting the game. It's worth it.

I'm really considering buying this.

Saw a review on TV and it does look good!

Let me know how you feel about it when you've played it for a while

IGN gave it a 5.2 out of 10 (not good), even lower then Spiderman 3 the game adn that game sucked.....bad controls and camera angles....so IM guessing this game is worse and will not give it a try....IGN reviews are usally dead on with games for me so I listen to what they have to say. I alrady sold SPiderman 3 on ebay so Im not wasting my money on Pirates....I bought Spiderman 3 without reading the IGN review, was that a mistake.....

I dont trust reviews for games and I trust reviews
from IGN even less.

There is only one reviewer I trust in this world
for games and his name is Chris Cantrell.

(Btw thats my name if you did not know)

There is one kind of reviews I hate reading....
they are ones where the reviewer informs you
they hated the game before they put it in, or
worse hates the universe that the game is contained
in.

I didn't find Spiderman 3 to be all that bad. It's just too short; My 8-year-old son beat it in a couple of weekends, but you can still play after you win. It has its issues, but I still think it was a 7/10.

I just find that people these days love to hate on things in an attempt to seemsmart or more sophisticated. They especially love to hate on movie games or anything PS3.

I think reviews giving that game scores like 5/10 are being overly harsh. The game isn't perfect (camera control, NPC pop-in, etc.) but it does many things well (graphics, sound, cinematic tie-in). It does introduce quite a few control sequences that are unusual for a typical 3rd person adventure game, I think that might have biased many reviewers against it. If you take the time to learn those controls, the game can be quite fun.

I actually prefer it to Spiderman 3 which wasn't that good. I would say PotC is more like a 7/10.

Because tastes vary and because of some unique controls, I would definitely recommend people to rent it first. It's worth a rental.

For those who have played this,
how would compare this with
Pirates legends of the black kat?

I loved the ship combat in that...
being able to sail and take enemy
fortresses land and go sword to sword.

I haven't beaten PotC yet, but so far there are none of the fun ship battles you mentioned. The PotC is very much a platformer (exploration, collecting, jump\climb, combat, cutscenes) that happens to be set in the PotC story.

As far as pirates games goes, it actually remind me more of Galleon... but that was on Xbox. On the PS3, I would say it reminds me of Dark Kingdom but with less RPG elements and more platforming elements.

Hope this helps.

It seems ill never find a game with that
great of ship to ship battle system...

Always trying to buy a new ship and learn
a new strategy with your new boat...

oh well...

I was hoping that there would be a game
to dethorne it coming out for the ps3...

Guess worlds end will not be that game...
