Ashes of Time Redux -AAARRGGH! - Blu-ray Forum

I pre ordered this at amazon and now it says "unavailable" which leads me to think it is not in fact ever going to be released on Blu-Ray.
I'm still waiting for my copy of the hong kong flick life gamble, which was supposed to come out a month ago.
Guess what, that sucks!

It's in stock at Amazon.co.uk, and probably will cost you less than the Amazon.com price.

Technically I should not be able to play that U.K. release on my american PS3, but a review here at bluray.com says it is actually region free.
I guess I'll buy it, but I will be so freaking pissed if it does not work in the U.S.

krumlin...it does work. the blu-ray that amazon U.S. has is an import of the UK blu-ray. so either place you order it from, you would be getting the UK disc. the only thing you wont be able to play on your ps3 is the special features.

Damn! I just read on the bluray.com review:
"PAL, so unless your TV could handle PAL directly you can't play it"
what is that supposed to mean? Can my Sharp Auqos "handle PAL" directly??

that is referring to the special features. you will be fine for the movie. some players can convert from pal. i have a Samsung BD-P1400 and was pleasantly surpised to find out that I could play the special features on this. I also have a PS3 and they wouldn't work on it.

but like i said before....if you buy the disc you'll be able to watch the movie perfectly fine....just not the special features, unless by chance your player allows it.

My player is a PS3, so no luck. I guess I have to buy the DVD for the special features... It just so happens that the special features on this disk actually sound great FOR ONCE.
