Pioneer Receiver Question - Blu-ray Forum

Here's my problem...
I've purchased the VSX-1018 from B&H as of January 14th with a 3 year warranty for $492 shipped. It has been on back order shortly after I ordered it.

I'm debating on whether I should continue waiting for it (no word from them or Pioneer as to when it will be available).

Continue waiting and maybe just upgrade the order to the 1019 when it comes out in April.

Or get the VSX-01TXH (Elite) from another retailer (FotoConnection) with 1-year warranty for around $540

Suggestions please

Thats a really nice deal and with a 3 year warranty... we bought the same pioneer 1018 as well, and we are really happy with our purchase. On the other hand i don't know what is taking so long with your order but it should have come in by now. We picked ours up at bestbuy, but it was full retail when we purchased it about 8 months ago.

If they are taking too long, then again by all means i'd try for the 1019, because it should really be similiar in features and have an extra HDMI connection. or upgrade to the elite... sounds like its whatever you feel you need to do right this instant, and if it were us then we'd already cancelled and purchased that elite model *LoL*. Just as long as you don't have to wait too much longer hehehee.

if you cant find it try for the 9130 from pioneer, great amp, around the same price

Get the Elite and look into a Mack warranty. Probably can pick the warranty up for a few extra bucks.

I believe that the 1019 is a "dumbed down" version of the 1018, using more processing componants from the lower end Pioneers, versus the 1018 which used alot of the same internals as the Elite series it was partnered with. Personally, I would cancel the order for the 1018 and go with the Elite VSX-01. All Elite series have a 3-year factory warranty with them as well, so no need to purchase an expensive warranty that way.

That Foto Connection says it comes with a 1-year factory. Do you think that is a typo?

Sh!7 , the 01 is only $509+ shipping... I should fricking order one...

I'm mad that the 1019 is gunna be of lower quality "supposedly"...

Looks like I'll be cancelling my order and going with the Elite. I looked into where FotoConnection is located and they ship from NY. I live in PA and it will probably get here faster than indicated.

Looks like that particular model comes with a 2-year factory warranty.

Make sure Foto is an authorized Pioneer retailer, because they won't honor your warranty otherwise

This might apply to you guys in the U S of A. Up here in Canada I went to purchase this unit last week - got myself a great deal thru the owner of the shop. He ordered it in front of me. He was told that there are no more in the (Pioneer) warehouse & no more will come. I guess he figured he lost the sale, so he gave me a great deal on VSX-01THX. These are out of stock also - but at least they are due by the end of the month. These must be good recievers to sell out.
