Default Star Wars Games Remakes?

Hi,

I saw the thread about the Indiana Jones game bypassing PS3, and got to think about the old Star Wars games for the SNES.

They had all 3 movies made into games and they were pretty darn good. Very accurate to the movie and the gameplay was fairly decent. You could also play as mutiple characters all with different abilities.

Im just wondering why they have never made an action game again for any of the systems since based on the first 3 Star Wars movies. I assume this must be a conscious decision by Lucas but I think if they remade those old SNES games for PS3 they would be awesome!

Just my 2cents.

Thanks

Those games were awesome. I wish they would remake them, or just let us get them on the playstatiin store. Highly unlikely though.

I'd love some of the old Star Wars sims from the PC's to be remade for PS3. The old X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance series. Now THAT would rock!

Well they were better then the nes ones that sorta accidently created a time paradox, during empire strikes back luke blew up the slave 1 and rescued Han Solo.

In some ways the nes ones I liked better.. I dunno the empire stikes back nes game seemed to have a more advanced speeder sections...

You know what after thinking about it they should just make it play like kotor or jedi acadamy.

Hell I just wish they'd remake "Star Wars Screen Entertainment" -- that awesome screensaver for Windows.

(Misses the good ole days of "flying toasters" and "Johnny Castaway")

I would love for Xwing and TIE fighter to be remade. Update the graphics and cutscenes and leave the gameplay alone. Unless they want to make Star Destroyers and other capital ships their actual sizes. Otherwise, I'd want them to leave the game play and missions alone. The voice acting is fine as it is.

Jedi Outcast is still one of my favorite games. I liked the refinement they did in Jedi Academy (especially in the character customization) and always hoped Galaxies would be based on this instead of that RPG combat system. Put the Skill Trees and player-based economy of the original Galaxies with the character control and combat from Jedi Outcast/Academy on PSN and I'd sign up in a heartbeat!

Shadows of the Empire, absolutely no doubt! That was the game that convinced me to buy a N64 instead of the PS1, and it was freaking awesome!

Even though this isn't a remake, I would like to see games based on all the movies. I liked the Episode III: Revenge of the Sith game where you get to play as Obi-Wan or Anakin with missions following the general story line of the movie.

Here's what I would like to see:
1) Episode I - Play as Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan depending on the situation with showdowns with Darth Maul on Tatooine and on Naboo.
2) Episode II - Play as Obi-Wan or Anakin with encounters with Jango Fett, the Tusken Raiders, the Arena Battle, and showdown with Dooku.
3) Episode IV - Play as Han Solo, Luke, or Obi-Wan against the stormtroopers and showdown with Darth Vader and flying down the Death Star trench.
4) Episode V - Play as Han Solo or Luke fighting on Hoth, eluding tie fighters in the asteroid field, confrontation with Darth Vader.
5) Episode VI - Play as Han Solo, Luke, or Lando fighting on the sail barge and kill Jabba, pursuing biker scouts, destroying the shields on Endor, space battle over Endor, fight Darth Vader, and destroy the Death Star.
