Default Futureshop has screwed me again!

My new sony 52kdl4100 v series was suppose to be delivered tomorrow. I even took the day off work. Well apparently they called my house at 9:30 am this morning while I was at work and asked me to call them to confirm. The message they left said that they wern't sure if I was in Paris Ont. or Waterloo Ont. which is like 45 minutes from Paris. I don't know how the hell they could mistake this when all of my info and my adress is connected to my account. (ordered it online)

Anyways I walk in the door from work at 3:30 pm, so six hours after they had called. I immediately returned the call and she asked for my account number. So I told her it and she said it wasn't on file. I'm like ok well they just called my house this morning and gave me the number so how can I not be on file. Than she took all of my other info and said that I wasn't in the system. I than said well I have already gotten an e-mail for my order and a phone call which I'm returning. Than after her telling me I wasn't in the system for 5 minutes, she told me that my order had been cancelled because they didn't know where I lived. (And they just meant the delivery date was cancelled) Well how did she know my order was cancelled if it wasn't in the system? She than said that I didn't return their call. I'm like don't you know that people work for a living. She goes " well we called you in the morning," lol ! And i just thought of this now, but when I filled out the info to purchase the t.v. it asked me for an alternate phone number and I gave them my work number. So why didn't they call me at work.

I'm thinking WTF. She said that because I didn't get back to them they cancelled the order. I was like what. I took the day off work to be here for when they came. I'm like why would you do that. And she said the girl that organizes it had already gone home for the day.

Anyways to make a long story short, my order has been cancelled, and they said they would be calling me tomorrow. So who knows when it will be coming.

I have been screwed royaly before by futureshop. check it out

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=68476

The only reason I went back was because the t.v. came with a free sony 550 blu ray player. That sealed it for me. And it's messed up cause the blu ray player came yesterday seperately.

Also one more thing. She said that I must have the date wrong because they only deliver to Paris on Thursdays. So I went and double checked my e-mail and it's for Wednesday the 18th, and also the message on the phone was asking me to confirm delivery for tomorrow. I'm seriously thinking of keeping the blu ray player and than cancelling the t.v. order altogether. I wonder if that would work.

I'm sure emotions are high right now (or at least I think they are). From what you say, it appears the screw up is theirs. Of course this crap stinks and is a royal pain in the butt. However, you knew you were playing with fire when you ordered from them again after your last experience. I'm not trying to be difficult, but you knew the chance was there that they would screw up again. Yes, you are the one who is being put out, but if you really want the TV, reschedule and get the thing. If you do cancel the whole order, I think you know what you should do about the blu-ray player and just return it. I bet if you cancel and don't return the player, you'll be charged to whatever account you give them to buy the TV for the player anyway. I recommend to rise above all this and do the right thing and just get your TV and be done with them. There is a reason some say..."fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Live and learn I always say....good luck!

I'd get your money back and go elsewhere. I remember your last post. I would never deal with them again.

Oh... and I'd keep the BD player for your troubles until they mention it. After all, it's not like they made many attempts at contacting you, right?

Totally agree! You have been screwed to many times by them.

I have the opposite story for you.

I bought a TV from TruTone Electronics in Mississauga.

I took the day off to receive it.

That day they phoned me in the morning and asked if it would be OK to delay the delivery from AM to PM. I said that I really wanted it in the morning so that I'd have time to wall mount it that day.

The sales guy said that he normally didn't do deliveries himself but that he would bring in over right away, so it did in fact appear in the morning.

I was delighted.

As for Future Shop... I have not had major electronics delivered. But I have ordered a DVD or two on-line. It is a major pain in the butt because I have the shipping address as my work address. No one is home during the day.

Yet I must phone from my home phone to confirm the order.

Normally I just buy from Amazon.ca to avoid this problem.

Definitely do this. When they call to ask you about the player, if they even do, just tell them they are not in YOUR system.

I would read this next post I'm about to quote and see if they'll ship to you, these guys know how to do business.

This is who I bought my last speakers from (Paradigm Monitor 11v5 and Servo 15v2 sub $2585) and I dealt with Roger and then Luke. These guys are awesome, they don't dick you around, when you know what you're talking about and what you're looking for they get it for you. I would strongly advise the OP to call Roger, tell him your experience with Future Shop and then ask him if he can help.

I agree. These guys are professional and I have had a few dealings with them as well. I can't vouch for their delivery myself, but I would suspect it's head and shoulders above FS online.

John

PS: TRU-TONE ELECTRONICS are located on Dundas St. in MIssissauga, between Cawthra and Dixie on the south side.
