I come from a time where there were Tomb Raider people and Resident Evil people and I was a Tomb Raider person.


With the dawning of PS3...maybe there is now room for both.

You can start with Resident Evil 5, but RE5 is different from RE1,2,3. RE4 is similar to RE5.

In a nutshell:

RE1 = RE2 = RE3

RE4 = RE5

Edit - I'm talking about gameplay. (Controls, camera angles.)

Do you have a gamecube? If so go with RE1/2/3/4 then Code Veronica then 5.

Or in other words, go in order.

I enjoyed Resident Evil 2 the most. RE1 & 3 were good back then but RE2 was/is still the best. I remember thinking it was such an improved experience from RE1. More enemies, better graphics, and more explosions.

Still on the fence with RE5. I've warmed up to the demo after getting comfortable with the tank controls.
