Netflix blu-ray users - Blu-ray Forum

I was just wondering if anyone who uses Netflix to rent blu-ray ever runs into the problem of them not playing correctly? Over the past month I've had 5 movies that skipped a lot through large parts of the movie. For each of these discs that didn't work, I tried 2 different players and they skipped at the same times, so I know its not the player. I'm just curious if anyone else is dealing with these issues too........

I have noticed that Blus need to be very clean. They seem to be sensitive to smudges on my player.

I've had a couple that didn't play, 1 of which was fixed by wiping the disc. As for the discs disappearing in transit to begin with, that seems to be a growing problem for some reason.

Over all the Blu Ray program is good, hard sometimes to get new releases cause they only have limited amount of copies, Ive had a few issues with disc not playing.

Puprle Rain -- Wouldnt play the extras
The Dark Knight - would freeze on Chapter 6

Any problems call Netflix they will fix it for you.

The only one that I've had issue with is 'My Best Friends Girl'. All other ones (over 50) have worked just fine.

Whenever I receive a problematic blu-ray from Netflix, this corrects it.

really no problems. I just check them well for dirt, smudges, whatever other grossness someone might have put on them before watching.

the netflix blu-rays seem to be handled much better than some of the dvds I get from them

Probably 30 or more so far. 2 problem discs if I remember correctly. Netflix quickly sent out new ones each time which fixed the problem. I'm using a PS3.

Of my last 5 blue's I got from netflix, 3 had an actual crack in them. I think I just had bad luck.

I've had netflix for almost a year now and I'd say about....80% of the movies I've rented were lu and I've only had a problem with one. I can't remember what it was but it just completely refused to load at all.
Oh and The Truman show DVD wouldnt play on my PS3 or computer and was scratchless.

But got a replacement 2 days later and all was good

ive had netflix for a long time...

no problems w/ any blus...

i do run into the occasional DVD issue... but nothing that was never corrected...

I've never had a problem with the blu-rays I rented at Netflix. Actually, I haven't got one with a smudge mark or scratch.

I have rented a ton of movies on Blu and have had just 3 failures, which Netflix promptly replaced.
