Check your speaker wires, and make sure they are not touching, as it could be a polarity problem. Make sure your positive and negative are not touching each other in any way. Also, make sure you have the correct wire attched to the correct terminal block (red to red, black to black.) This can cause the Onkyo to go into protection mode and shut off.

Also try swapping the HDMI cables around to isolate one with a potential problem. I had a bad HDMI cable and the TV kept losing signal and going black, but the 606 still had power (display still lit, etc.). Is this what's happening or is just the red standby light on?

Not the red light that comes on its like when u switch between inputs is what happens. For instance ill play a game and while im playing I hear a click from a receiver than blank for 2 or 3 seconds than click again and everything comes back on, it also happens for movies too. It just started recently.

Yeah, I know what clicking you are talking about, but that is obviously very stange indeed. I hate to bring this up, but perhaps it's a faulty circuit board? Some Onkyo's have had this issue. If so, it would require repair from a tech, but lets hope not.

Does it happen only when the movie loads, or when you change channels on the set? If so, that's normal. If it only happens on cable TV, that can occur when there's a loss in signal or it has to switch between DD and stereo sound. If it's anything other than that, I'd say it needs a repair.
