Another site to check out is http://www.renchi.com/index.jsp. I've always had great service from them, and they often have the cheapest prices.

Any suggestions would generally be based on what type of films you like. I have a huge list of fantastic Asian movies, but they span countries and genres.

Oldboy
Lady Vengeance
Battle Royale
X-Cross
R-Point
GP 506
Accident
Shamo
Dog Bite Dog
Beast Cops
Vengeance
Untold Story
City of Life and Death
Overheard
Protege
Izo
Yatterman
Deadly Outlaw Rekka
Dead or Alive
Sharkskin Man and Peach Hip Girl
The Host
Assembly
Warlords
The Good the Bad the Weird
City of Violence
.....

Too many to list all of really... but that covers some of my faves. Not all available on blu mind you, but worth checking out nonetheless.

Nice list. I'm not much into Takashi Miike though. My favorite of his has always been Bird People of China. I liked Crows Zero though too.

A fun place to start would be with Johnnie To movies. The finest director in Hong Kong today IMO. Amazing director. Throwdown is one of my favorite films of all time.

I do love some Johnny To, though my favorite of his is Fulltime Killer. He's easily my favorite director currently working in Hong Kong. Comparing him with Miike, though, does a disservice to both I think. They have hugely distinct differences in style and themes, and Miike to me proves that he can work within almost any genre given his huge list of films. I don't like every film that Miike has done, but a good deal of them, including Bird People of China. Right now I'm actually more enamored by Mamoru Oshii's live action work... Stray Dog, Red Spectacles, Talking Head, even Avalon (can't wait for Assault Girls, really).

Johnny To is easily a more visual director, with controlled bursts of violence peppering his otherwise calm, and often charmingly comedic movies. He easily exemplifies what I love most about Hong Kong cinema. But really, the differences between the two are so vast it would almost be appropriate to simply say that Japanese cinema is so hugely different from Hong Kong films that they can't be fairly compared or weighed against each other.

Just my two cents, really.
