Literally.. this is a MITS HC3000 I have. I have it connected component cables to bdp-2500.
Check out pic of the picture. http://backspinrecords.net/ht/bottle1.jpg The fleshtones are..uhhhh.. obviously way off! In general the picture is very dark and very red. I have some other shots but this was the more extreme. This is at 1080i 60 - bottle rocket on blu ray playing. Does anyone think there is anything I can do about this or is this pj shot? It looks to me like the colors in the menus are good.. that maybe it has to do with the inputs or something else in the path from component to the screen. I never could get it to work over HDMI, and no longer have a cable. I did double check I had the component cables on correctly..I know that can do weird things if you leave one off or switch them up. If there is any troubleshooting I can do for this red picture issue, I'd be grateful to hear what it is. |

I would start by quintuple checking every component cable, on the projector end, and on the player's end. It kind of seems like the Pb (Blue) cable may be the problem, since you have luminance and you have Pr.
If you're completely sure everything is good, I would go into the BDP menu and make sure all the video output settings, including color range, are properly set. I would say that you are right in saying that it is a connection issue, but it could be a player issue. Do you have another component source to try? Are there maybe adjustements that have to bo done via the projector? I'm sure someone smarter can answer that question. Best of luck. |

I just thought.. seems I could shift the cables all over one color.. if the picture looks bad in the same way, it is not the cable. If the picture is bad in a different way (different color) then it probably is the cable.
I think that makes sense. I will try it! |

I would try getting another set of cables. See if a buddy has a known good set you can borrow, so you don't have to waste money. If that doesn't work, see if you can reset the tv to factory default settings. Good luck and keep us updated!

It now seems to have some other issues that I may or may not try and diagnose. It doesn't want to display 480p for some reason but will play a blu-ray fine at 1080i or 720p. |

LOL that lady looks like a Demon. Sorry to hear about your TV problems it does sound like a cable issue as stated above. Lets just hope that the TV is not defective. If there is a restore to default setting on your TV you might want to try that as well just to make sure. But first I would try to get another set of cables and see if that is your issue.

Looks fine to me.
![]() Seriously though..., Firs thing I would do is go trough the menus with nothing hooked up to the pj. If everything looks fine with no input... Start with a composite video cable (the yellow RCA type) and try that. Then check S-Video. If you don't have these types of cables they are cheap. I do think maybe there is a chance it's expecting RGB instead of component or maybe your source is outputting something like RGB or YCbCr instead of YPrPb or whatever those are supposed to be. Too bad you said you had no luck with the HDMI because that would likely be the easiest to configure. Last edited by bhampton; 03-26-2009 at 05:50 PM. |

I did get the color issue worked out... it was something with the component cable..
I briefly tried an HDMI cable and could get no image at all on the darn thing. I have seen 4 different issues on this thing, but when it works it looks really good... for some reason it likes 720 or 1080 input and doesn't like 480 input which is pretty weird. |
