Hi,
I have built a computer from scratch and am having some issues. Most recently I have updated from Cyberlink's PowerDVD 6.6 that came with my Liteon BD Drive to PowerDVD 7.3 for Windows Vista 64-bit support. I put in a variety of blu-ray movies and hit the play button and nothing happens... no error messages, no anything. The drive recognizes that it has a BD disc inserted and windows reads a 22.8 GB logical volume ID but will not display the movie name like it does with a DVD. How does windows recognize movie titles of the BD format? Windows recognizes the drive in the hardware profile as being a DVD/CD drive but no Blu-Ray - but I am not suprised that it doesn't since the drive should be generic anyhow. I just don't know what is 'normal' and what isn't. Can anyone help? I am nearly at wits end. XLR28 |

I have a 58" Panasonic Plasma TV and a blu-ray approved nVidia GeForce GPU. I run Cyberlink's are you ready for Blu-Ray utility and everything's a go.

Here is my setup:
Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 @ 1.86GHz 2GB of RAM 64-bit OS Windows Vista Ultimate NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT Lite-on BD B LH-2B1S (newest firmware) Audio and Video via HDMI to 58" Panasonic Viesa Plasma TV Cyberlink Power DVD 7.3 BD (latest update) Blu-Ray Movies I have and have tried to play: The Fifth Element Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2 The Transporter 1 and 2 Lara Croft Tomb Raider Underworld - Evolution Hitchhikers Gide to the Galaxy King Arthur Kingdom of Heaven The system plays regular DVD's without issue. To someone who watches Blu-Ray movies on their PC when you open my computer while a movie is in the drive, what does the drive say is loaded? Does is say the movie title or just "DVD RW Drive (D): LOGICAL_VOLUME_ID 0 bytes free of 22.8 GB" I think mine should read "The Fifth Element" but it doesn't. Since I can't get microsoft to help with the troubleshooting and I have not gotten it to work as of yet, I have nothing to compare it to to see where I need to go from here. Thanks for the assistance. XLR28 |

I have a sony BD drive and I can play "the Fifth element" in it. When I insert the BD disc, windows will not display movie title, but only volume information. BTW, i can play it with PowerDVD6.6, maybe you install 6.6 again?
