Default Misprint on back Pirates of the Caribbean: AWE: 1080i or 1080p? Answer: 1080 P

So Im at work in the back room looking for Superbad and Pirates 3 On BD....well come to find out apparently it is 1080i for the movie. Im sure this is a mistake but was amazed both the slipcover and the actual case both say 1080i instead of 1080p. Anybody else at any other retailers or happened to come across the BD early notice this on those ones as well? I couldn't get a good picture of the back showing it with my phone though.

Hmm... if this misprint is true for all copies, I wouldn't be surprised to see another wave of FUD headed our way from the red ants, trying to make a mountain out of a molehill again.

Yeah I can just hear all the shit now, hopefully its just the box of em we got, but who knows haven't heard anything from anyone at Best Buy or other Targets.

Well the Disney store shows this

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/...tegoryId=13103

Feast your eyes on the sumptuous visual brilliance of 1080p while your ears revel in the richness of 5.1 48 kHz, 24-bit uncompressed audio. You will believe - thanks to Blu-ray™ High Definition. Rated PG-13.

Maybe they are going HD-DVD, and just using the same encode, since the "flood" of crippled 1080i HD-DVD players on the market.

it HAS to be a misprint... there is no way Disney would ever slack on this. However if for some reason we have a legit 1080i movie, there would be HELL breaking loose everywhere and anywhere!

lets not let this happen and hope it is a misprint

It definetely is a misprint! My TV said it was receiving 1080P from my PS3, but my Discovery atlas discs that really are 1080I, read 1080I on the TV.

Somebody with a UK copy mentioned the same thing in another thread but stated the movie was in fact 1080P. Lets not make something out of nothing people, its just a mis-print.

ACtually here is the back cover for the UK version of the film which states its 1080P for the video:

Why does it say "Some players may not access all the special features"?

That's been standard CYA wording on DVDs for years, not just Blus
