Default Superman Bizarro script...

Anyone else see this...

Courtesy of Latinoreview.com

El Mayimbe here...

Spec season is alive and well once again in Hollywood and that's good.

Once in while here at the site, we look a certain specs which we think either have merit or of interest to fanboys.

Enter Bizarro Superman.

Robert Gordon, the writer of such movies like Men In Black 2 & Galaxy Quest decided to create Bizarro world on spec for shiz & giggles.

At press time, I'm unaware if a studio purchased the script, but development executives in Hollywood are certainly getting a kick out of it and I'm sure our readers would too.

Reader Dr. Strangefist took a look at the spec script for us in our current First Look Episode. Edgar "El Toro" once again provides the narration and Stuart Benedict performed the editing chores and is Exec produced by Kellvin.

Could be cool but I'd rather see Brainiac as the villian.

Because we need a retarded Superman clone running around trying to win the heart of Lois Lane.

George Reeves. But seriously, folks...

I really dislike having bad guys with superpowers. I'm also fed up with the productions that abandon quality writing for camp.

How about a serious script with Superman matching wits with intelligent villains. Smart enough to skirt around the periphery of Superman's powers. Clark can use his skills as true investigative journalist to winnow out clues about their plans.

Is it that hard to pitch an intelligent Superman script?

Before I get blasted let me make clear - I watch and love Smallville. But ...
the honest answer is that hardly any of the "movie" audience has ever seen Smallville. The last episode that aired pulled in 3.8 million viewers. Gordan Ramsey (on Fox) pulled in 7 million that night and a new comedy on CBS pulled in 5 million. Lets face it - the viewership for Smallville is really low. Just because they have covered something does not mean it is off limits to a much bigger audience.

Exactly what I was thinking. With an exception of just the superman mythos smallville really doesn't have anything to do with the superman movies.

If it's the exact opposite of Emo Superman stalking Lois Lane in Superman Regurgitated, I'm all for it.

I'd rather see Doomsday or Cyborg Superman aka Man of Tomorrow. And if the guy who wrote MIB II and Galaxy Quest id writing this I doubt it could get it back on track.

MIB 2 and Galaxy Quest were comic-booky movies.

They also didn't turn the main characters into creepy stalkers in order to make them appear more human to the audience.
