Default 1920x1200 HDMI monitor with PS3

So would that set up work? Would movies played with the PS3 (or other stand alone player) display in the proper aspect ratio? I don't want it to stretch. The 1920x1200 resolution is attractive to me for use on a PC (not for blu-ray but other things) ... I'd love to dual purpose it this way with a PS3.

Most likely the monitor would stretch anything for a native 16:9 display since it is 16:10, but I have a 24" monitor that display at 1920x1200 and I plugged my HD STB into it, and it didn't look (to me) that distorted.

Many monitors have a 1:1 setting. Otherwise most will stretch by default. At the very least you will have scaling without using 1:1.
