Where the reps at?

Since this is vBulletin, I assume that the reputation system is disabled. I think this would be fun? At other forums, thoughtful and intelligent posts are usually awarded with reputation points from benefitting members while trolls and threadcrappers are given negative points. Has this been suggested before?

I don't think that would work particularly well in this forum. Too many thoughtful and intelligent posts would get really bad rep for not slathering praise over the right game console or speaker brand or tv, etc etc etc; and conversely some totally inane posts would get tons of good rep just for saying something like "+1 Bose SUXORS!"

yep, so true, It would end up like the HT ratings and people being spiteful, etc and then people complaining about unfair reps.....

but we welcome the change if the admins wanna add it

Unfortunately the "reps" system breeds a culture of fear.

I think implementing it would be a fair experiment. The moderators could always turn it off again if problems arise.
