Default Rescue Me, season 3

I pulled this off IMDb.com today:

Quote:
The third season of FX's firefighter drama Rescue Me, starring Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Denis Leary, will become the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's first TV release in the Blu-ray high-definition format. The four-disc set will sell for $79.95 versus $49.95 for the standard-definition version. It will include all of the extras present on the standard-def release -- but no more. There are no plans to release the first two seasons of the series in the high-definition format. SPHE marketing exec Marc Rashba told Home Media Retail magazine, "We're all working folks, and we're very mindful about asking [consumers] to put out more money for what they already have." The release date for the DVD set is June 3.
This is REALLY exiting news!!! I am so getting it. FX has some top-notch shows and if enough people buy this it'll convince them to release more.

Exciting but too expensive. I don't think they will have many takers at that price, especially since the season is so short. $80 for 13 episodes? No thanks.

Being Irish and having family in New York, how can I not like this show?

That will probably just be the msrp and you will probably be able to get it for cheaper than that.

Yea, I'm sure it'll be on sale everywhere for at least the week that it comes out. But that's really not that much. Standard HBO show DVDs are $99.99

I'll be getting this also. I'm a bit behind on the show, but it's pretty decent. I also want to show support for Rescue Me in the hopes that The Shield will be next. I just bought Season 5 this week on standard DVD, but I wouldn't hesitate in replacing my whole Shield collection with BD's. My parents are semi-fans so I could always give them the DVD's

I will definately pick this one up as well. Great show and I believe it is important to support the initial releases of TV shows for our format to show that the public is willing to buy them. I bet future releases will become cheaper as more sell.

I agree about if enough people buy this it'll convince them to release more, but Once again, it's a season 3 release like Sopranos First half of Season 6. (I think HBO TV Shows are overprice.) I'm sure I'm not the only person, who hasn’t watched either show. I really think we need to have some season 1 releases on Blu-ray, for TV shows to really take off on blu-ray. Fox and MGM seem to be doing it right, by releasing Season 1 of 24, Prison Break, & Stargate Atlantis. Of course, they are taking there sweet time. Stargate Atlantis was going to be one of the first TV shows to be release on Blu-ray and we’re still waiting for a release date.

I've just started watching season 2. It's a good show so I will definetly pick it up. If you have seen it before, then you probably want to pick it up. If not I'd watch the first 2 seasons. As far as the tech and extras reviewed, haven't seen any reviews yet.

It'll take me awhile to go thru the entire season, but the review should be up sometime this week. If the other three discs hold up to the first, Sony's really delivered in presentation. It's a lot better than the only other TV show I've seen in high def, which was Smallville on HD DVD.

It's only $50 on amazon since I get the 10% discount but $55 still isn't bad! This is one of my favorite shows anyway so there was no question for me. The awesome look of the show should come out great on bd

I've been checking the BBuy website since this was announced. It was there for a while at $79, I think. Then just two weeks ago or so...it was gone from the blu ray list, but I found it via search. But within a day it was completely gone. BBuy is kind of unreliable when it comes to their release dates...I believe they originally had labeled weeds season 1 to come out on the 23rd(?) instead of the 29th when it really did. Then there was when they had preorders for Dude Where's My Car.
