Netflix job posting hints at movie streaming for other consoles

We've heard whispers of Netflix heading to other, non-Xbox 360 game consoles before, and now adding to the susurrus is a job listing from the company for Engineering Lead - Gaming Platforms. The description calls for someone familiar with the technical hurdles of current-gen consoles for building a small team to "rapidly prototype and iterate on a variety of platforms." Whether or not this means we'll be seeing PlayStation 3 or Wii services in the near (or even distant) future is anyone's guess, but with Microsoft's version so far a streaming success, we wouldn't be surprised if the company took a few steps to increase the probability that 3 billionth delivered flick is digital.

it can go to other consoles. there are holes in Microsoft's contract...see if SONY or Nintendo used a disc and that disc allowed to stream to the PS3 or Wii that is not covered by the contrat

Yeah i know, but still, who would want to use it? streaming it would be better. or is the disc just to install it?

That would be nice. I stream it on my other console now and again. Honestly, I'm disappointed in title selection.

Their streaming is 4 out of 10 for me. Yeah, I can stream lots of old, crap movies and some decent movies/shows, but they need to focus more on new releases.

And its cool if the ps3 gets netflix...its a good service ps3 can just have both netflix and there service also..maybe??

I hope so. I finally downloaded the free trial of Playon to stream Netflix to my PS3 and the video quality was actually worse than with my (~6yr old) PC connected via RGB directly to my TV.

Im glad i hope ps3 does some things with netflix...But i really wish my wii could at least play dvds..or upconvert them maybe....Ahhh to dream.

If this comes to Canada faster then the Sony service, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, I don't really see the need for 2 services. Is this website actually reputable? I've never heard of it.
