Default Problem with new Denon

I've had my new Denon 1909 for almost 3 weeks now and every time I watch a movie, 1-3 times thru out the movie, the picture & sound will shut off for about 2 seconds, then the picture will re-appear but the Blu-ray player is in fast-forward mode for a second or so like it's trying to catch up to where it left off, then when the speed returns to normal the sound returns. Yesterday I went to the Magnolia room at the Best Buy where I bought it and explained the problem to the salesman. The first thing he did was question the HDMI cables I was using (Monoprice) saying basically the receiver was drawing the signal from the Sony BDP-S300 faster than the Sony could output the signal and the problem could be fixed with a hi-speed Monster cable. I explained to him that I was born in the morning, but not yesterday morning. I have used 2 different HDMI cables & it does it with both, and never did it for the last year & half with the player plugged straight into the tv. He then said the receiver & Blu-ray player needed firmware updates & got on his computer to see how to update the receiver. When he Googled Denon 1909 firmware, a link was found saying it was not possible. There was another link on a different forum with people having the same problem, but no real solution: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/697858
I was wanting to know if anyone has had this problem with your 1909. I am thinking of returning it and upgrading to the AVR-2309CI. It makes me mad to have to spend another $200 bucks for minimum upgrades to fix a problem that should not be happening!
