Since Jackie Earle Haley already did such an awesome job as Rorschach in Watchmen, it'll be even more interesting to see him fill the already big shoes left by Robert Englund in the 2010 remake/reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street!

What do you think? Can Haley give us a reason not to fall asleep at night as the new Freddy Krueger?

Simple the franchise went on with too many horrible ideas and they destroyed the original creepy image of freddy. This film is set to go old school and keep him silent and even more brutal. He should never have become a punchline and a joke, they ruined him and Platinum Dunes is going to fix that.

Haha no man it's cool, the thread hasn't been bumped to the main page in probably a week, so maybe a lot of other people like you hadn't known. If you check out the thread I linked to, you can learn all sorts of things about the new movie, including other casting and a script review video that tells you about all of cool changes and updates they plan on making.

umm....but the first one is PERFECT as it is. They aren't remaking any of the sequels. They're remaking the first. None of Freddy's creepiness is lost as a result of the sequels. They dont tarnish the original at all. How much more silent and brutal can he be before he becomes a caricature of himself? Instead of saying what you said, why dont you just tell the truth: Hollywood is completely out of fresh ideas when it comes to horror movies.

Might be old news, but this is news to me. Great casting. Even if the reboot is uncalled for, at least their headed in the right direction it seems.
