New Sony $499 BLU-RAY player launches in 7-10 days

Here is recent articles with updated info on the new list price of $499 for the Sony BDP-S300. Most likely in about a month after launch one will be able to find this new Sony BLU-RAY player at discount mail order Internet companies for around $399.

“But Chris Fawcett, vice president of Sony Electronics' home products division, told the Associated Press today that the player will cost just $499.

He attributed the lower price to falling production costs and an increased demand for Blu-ray products.

Fawcett said the new player will ship this week, meaning it should be available in stores in the next 7-10 days.”
