Default Happy Anniversary Mustang. 45 years strong.

One of the most iconic cars ever made. I drove one last year in Maui for my wedding. Top down on the road to Hana was amazing.

My uncle owns a 67 Fastback that he's currently restoring. Original 289 still in it.

45 years is pretty impressive. Congrats Ford.

I prefer the real Shelby over the Elanor copy sicne that's just a fiberglass kit. The original Shelby GT-500 and it's sibling the GT-350 are pure monsters on the track.

Same here. Eleanor was/is a great car, but it made the 1967 'stang kind of played out for a while there: everyone and their brother all of a sudden said their favorite car was a 1967 Mustang fastback after they saw Gone in 60 Seconds. I mean, it's cool that it opened their eyes, but kind of a trip that it took a modern movie to do it. That car needs no special treatment to get its due recognition. It stands on its own as a classic.

There was a similar fad in the mid-1990s when for some reason 1968 and 1969 Camaros were all the rage; they just became blasé after that to me for a while because "everyone had to have one." Now the fad has died out and I can enjoy them again.

While the Eleanor in the new Gone in 60 looked better, I still like the original Gone in 60 Seconds. They drive the hell out of the 73 in that one.

Hey did any of you guys know that you can rent the Shelby GT500 from Hertz????

I did when it first started, even though I was too young; but holy crap. That was a beast. SOOOOOOOOOO fast. When Im at a red light, the engine purrs like a kitten. But man it was costly to rent it. But oh so worth it.

Yeah, the GT500h. They are actually going to sell them off from what I hear to the highest bidders after they are done.

They had it to rent in Maui when I was out there. Cost more to rent for a week than I spent on my entire trip.

Beautiful car though.

I know, it was like 200 a day or something crazy like that...but damn, everyone's eyes were on me. I drove it down the 1 and people just stopped and stared
