Default dynamic range?

So I am configuring my htpc via hdmi and it asks "satelite speakers usually have a limited dynamic range and require they be used with a subwoofer"

If your speakers have full range, select them below.

Ok, so it asks me about my front- left and right
and my rears left-right

What makes it a full range speaker?
Do I have them?

My fronts are Energy C-300B
my surrounds are Bookshelf speakers (cadence)
