Default "Mode Not Supported"

I have a Samsung LN40A650 - 40 inch LCD TV
I am so mad. I have been having bad customer service for my BDP-899 player. I was told that a PAL <---> NTSC converter was built-in. I bought the movie [REC] and it wouldn't work, even with the codes. It plays on the player, but it would just say "Mode Not Supported" on the television. I was told to change the resolution on the player to 1080P or 1080i, so I did and now the t.v. won't recognize my player. Whenever I turn the player on it says "Mode Not Supported" I am so MAD!!!! Not only will the disc not play on the T.V. now, it won't even show that it's connected on the screen!!!! WTF!

HELP

[REC] is presented in 1080i50, which is a European standard and not included on many US TVs and BD players. So one or the other is causing you problems, and there's really nothing you can do to fix it short of buying different equipment.

Nevermind, fixed it!
I have have a region free player with a built in PAL<-->NTSC converter, so it was no problem. Just the set up with the player was not right. Haha. Sorry
