Amazon UK if you search it has it up for £12.29 (Today 21 April 09) but that might change. But they list it as no date. I hope this movie don't get a listing and then delayed with no end in site like bad boys and godzilla.

Oh good Lord....

I can't imagine anything worse than watching David Bowies trouser offal in Hi-Def

Watching the DVD was bad enough, and completely detroyed my innocent childhood memories of the movie

I got a copy of the Labyrinth blu-ray in Tower Records Dublin recently for only €10. They have got loads of copies there including his CD's soon after he had gone before us with his cancer illness.

I used to watch this movie lots of times on Nickelodeon when I was a kid and more recently on Channel 5 & still love every minute of it.

The artwork on the Blu-ray looks stunning. Well worth the money if you can get it.

Yeah the artwork looks nice and the film looks great. I got mine for Christmas ages ago. From Blockbusters.

Just saw a listing on Zavvi for the 4K-restored Labyrinth, although it says "25th Anniversary" rather than "30th Anniversary" (hopefully just a typo). The current listing is only for Ultra HD Blu-ray, but the release date is September 19th. Hopefully there's a regular Blu-ray edition too!

Lucky I didn't buy the current edition at any point then! I almost bought it a month or two ago, admittedly.

Well this one slipped under my radar, I randomly spotted the Amazon exclusive digibook preorder, for only £10.99. Although it's also getting a 4K UHD blu & 4K Steelbook.
The news article for the 4K UHD lists the new extras (hopefully all included on blu-ray too);

Quote:
ALL-NEW: "The Henson Legacy" Featurette
Jennifer Connelly and the Henson family talk about the art of puppetry and the magic of Jim Henson, along with a visit to the "Center for Puppetry Arts" featuring The Jim Henson Collection and over 100 puppets from Labyrinth.

ALL-NEW: Labyrinth Anniversary Q&A
Hosted by Mythbuster's Adam Savage with participants Brian Henson, David Goelz and Karen Prell, and surprise guest Sheri Weiser.

ALL-NEW: "The Goblin King" Featurette
Remembering David Bowie with co-star Jennifer Connelly, and Jim Henson's children Brian Henson and Cheryl Henson.
  • The Storytellers (Picture-in-Picture)
  • Commentary by Conceptual Designer Brian Froud
  • Original Making of Documentary "Inside The Labyrinth"
  • "Journey Through the Labyrinth: Kingdom of Characters" Documentary
  • "Journey Through the Labyrinth: The Quest for Goblin City" Documentary
  • Theatrical Trailer

I thought 4K discs were using the 3D method with only the film on the disc and all the extras on the included 2D Blu-Ray?

If so then those extras will be present on the standard BD release.

Since I never picked up the old disc, I guess it'd be rude for me not to get this Amazon exclusive digibook! I pre-ordered it already last week, but September is quite a busy month. Hopefully it doesn't disappear too quickly...

Post from the US thread, comparing the '09 blu-ray vs '16 blu-ray (out in a couple of days);

Also series 1 of Jim Henson's the Storyteller is finally getting a well deserved rerelease the same day. However no sign of the 4 episode second series.

Only one disc it appears but at £6:99 for all 9 episodes rather than the £15 each (now significantly more) charged for the long OOP two 2004 volumes it's a bargain for fans of quality kid's TV.

For those that ordered the digibook, be very, very careful when detaching the jcard & snot glue from the back. On mine it had sucked up a bubble on the paper, so when I gently pulled up it tore off a half inch chunk
Always nice damaging something that has been out of the cellophane 20 seconds

EDIT: Looks a little naff, but I've hit the damage under the 30th Anniversary sticker, better than nothing I guess.

This happened to me with the Batman box set too, that glue was strong.
Thanks for the heads up though, i'll detach mine with a sharp knife i think.
