Question Amazon.UK Buying Help

Let me start by saying I am not sure where to post this question. There are two movies that I am interested in buying.

The Island

Saints and Soldiers

Both of the above Titles have been released in the UK, and are region free. I live in the US. I do not have an account with amazon. If i open an account with Amazon, can i purchase movies from the UK Amazon with the same account? I've never used Amazon before and am thus not very familair with how it works.

Basically I want to know how I can purchase these UK releases since I do not live in the UK.

Please help.

I live in Canada and purchase from Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, and Amazon.co.uk.

Just set up an account at Amazon.co.uk and use your US address and credit card.

Shipping rates are not bad and they do a good job of getting things to you fast.

Be sure to check out the 3 for 2 deal on blus if you haven't already.

You need separate accounts for each country if you plan to use more than one.

Yes. I bought Company of Wolves from an Amazon UK seller. I also bought a DVD from Amazon Japan. All with a US account.

If I open a US account, then i can still order with no problems. The only differnce would be the exchange rate and how long it takes to ship?

I was under the impression I would need a UK address to set up an UK account?

You set up a US Amazon account, you can buy from any Amazon site. I buy every so often from the U.K Amazon (I myself bought Saints and Soldiers)

Simple to do...and they ship relatively quick

Once you set up the Amazon account...w/ password and CC details...it will be saved on the U.K account (you still have to log on..but its the same password)

I use my american Amazon account to shop from amazon UK, Canada, Germany and I can do France if I wish. One account to use them all.

As for shipping times, it varies. I've had a package take 10 days to reach me from the UK, but the last one I ordered was here in 5. YMMV.

Thumbs down

The only thing i don't like is the fact that the wish lists are kept separate.

Is there anyway of knowing if the blu-ray you are buying on the UK site will play on my blu-ray player here in the US? For example I looked up "The Island" on the UK site but couldn't find any info regarding region A or whatever.
