isn't it risky ordering discs during the coming hot summer months? - Blu-ray Forum

I mean, both DVD and BD care manuals say to not expose to hot temperatures ... wouldn't DVDs or BDs shipping through USPS or UPS, etc., be inevitably exposed to hot temperatures, in transit and/or while sitting in your mailbox, etc.

Maybe we should all take a break from buying optical media during the coming summer.

Wouldn't like extreme temperatures cause a dual layer disc to melt and the layers to come apart?

I've never had, nor seen a DVD or CD damaged due to temperatures during shipping..... or sitting in my car, etc.... And I have DVDs in my jeep constantly....

If they were in direct sunlight (I mean sunlight on the disc itself for a couple of hours) then that might be a problem. But if they're in their case and in shipping packaging, they'll easily be fine for a day or two in your mailbox or doorstep.

You sir have never left a dvd in your car where I live. Lake Havasu AZ can get up past 120 on the hottest days every summer.
