Ive been waiting for news on this for a long time. The original is a classic and the sequel is funny as hell. I want these so bad. Heres the news link,

I held off on the DVD at HMV, it was only 5 bucks bust I knew i wanted it on Blu Ray. cant wait

side note I ended up buying the Goonies for $4 at best buy, and im kinda glad I didnt wait for blu ray, movie was only good as a kid. wouldnt be worth the $15-$25 price tag IMO

as far as i know this is already released region free... I saw it at playasia.com but its expensive

If this wasn't an Amblin Entertainment (Spielberg) production, I don't think WB would have gone back and re-did the transfer for the first one. They would have shoved it out the door as is.

You're right. Thankfully Amblin is working to release quality BDs.

Agreed. Wanted GREMLINS for a long time now. I'm one of the few that totally hates the second...but oh well. great news indeed!

Hopefully they will give us an option just like the DVD. Agreed on the anniversary version. Quite unnecessary.

Here's some positive thinking to throw into the air: Gremlins (Collector's Edition) - New 2k scan by either Shout! or Arrow with newly commissioned artwork on a reversible sleeve. I want to see this happen!
