Default Why is 24 season 7 coming to Blu-ray so soon after airing yet...

every other show (soughLostcoughcough), we have to wait for months for release after air date? WTF?

Also, I really wish they'd bring the rest on the seasons to Blu soon.

I haven't heard why 24 is coming out so soon. Usually a show will come out about a month before the new season starts to get people excited for the new season and to save some advertising money by promoting the new season and DVD and Blu-ray release at the same time. Friday Night Lights 3 seasons have also been this way, as each season has been released shortly after the season ended.

So, if Lost had come out first, you wouldn't really care that 24 did theirs now?

its odd but given the writers strike the season was done before the season ever started airing so they had time to due all the bonus stuff they usually do in between seasons

This was my question too. And also also asked why everybody is picking this up the first day! If i got it the first day i wouldnt even touch it til the start of next season really, so why bother now. I also want to hold out for a better idea of the chances we see the other seasons. i hate having 1-2 season in the middle on blu and some on DVD. I would rather not buy any of that is going to happen

You can still watch with an antenna, in HD. That's a secret the cable companies don't want you to know. If you can get good reception, almost always the over the air HD broadcast is superior to the cable/satellite HD version.

You don't need to have seen the previous seasons to enjoy season 7. A lot of new characters are in season 7.

If I didn't have a backlog of stuff to watch, I would watch season 7 on blu-ray even the day after finishing watching it on TV. It's really that good.

Why does it matter!? This is the first I've ever seen someone complaining that something is coming out too soon. I wish that was the case with Star Wars!

Why not?

I'm very happy that it comes out so soon! I will be able to clear some space on the DVR (I'm still catching up on season 6)

I for one want to know why there has been no mention of Fox's "House M.D." on Blu-ray. The Season Five DVD placeholder is up, but there is nothing for a Blu-ray. Maybe this factor's into Fox's early release of "24"; perhaps they are testing the Blu market for their popular shows...and due to "24"s distinct style, that sees so many people preferring to watch multiple episodes at once, I think it's a good idea.

THAT DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T WANT "HOUSE" OUT DAMN SOON THOUGH!!!

They had an 8 week headstart because 8 eps were shot before the strike

That's what makes it possible

24 Season 7 would be enjoyable to a new viewer as any season of 24 would be, because its an exciting show with solid production. But seriously, Season 7 has about 5 times more impact to those of us who have been with 24 from day 1.

I think the point the OP was trying to convey is not why is season 7 being released on Blu-ray before the other seasons? but instead, why is it releasing so soon after the season finishes airing?
