Hi all,
I just picked up the Matrix 10th anniversary on blu ray and seem to be having a problem I cannot find anyone else having. When the movie starts, the in-movie experience plays with the overlayed video and dialogue withe the commentary. I've tried turning it off in the menu's but even with it off it still plays the overlayed video and diaglogue. I cannot watch the movie without having this play as well. I have a Samsung BD-P1500 updated to the most recent firmware connected via HDMI to a Samsung Plasma set. Anyone have any ideas ? ![]() |

Well, after trying several things including reloading the most current firmware; which didn't solve the issue ..I finally got it working correctly.
Seems like a bug with this player and this disc; if you go to special features and turn the in-move experience to on and then back to off, boom it works properly ! If anyone else runs in to this, give it a try ! ![]() |

I just updated my Samsung BD2500 to firmware 2.5, and happened to put in The Matrix, which is new and had played perfectly previous to the firmware upgade. Also, I had never turned any of the special features on - hadn't had time.
The 'In Movie' PIP and audio feature is now playing, yet it didn't display as being 'on' in the feature menu. I can't get the PIP and audio to go away, no matter what I do. Switching the feature to 'on' causes a strange icon to appear in the upper left hand corner of the top black bar on my Series 7 750 - it looks like a sat dish with a left and right caret on either side - this goes away when the feature is switched to 'off', yet the PIP and audio remain. I looked at the other extras to see if I was just barking up the wrong tree, but can't find anything obvious. I've reset the BD2500, unplugged it, even reformatted the persistant memory. I've tried Blade Runner and it plays fine. I called Samsung tech support - they're very, very good BTW, and they're 'escalating' to a Sr. Tech. Update as of Monday, 5/11 @ 13:15 EST: Samsung has acknowledged the problem and they're working on it, no estimate of when the fix will be available. I had no problem using a CD dropping back to a firmware version prior to 2.4, which seems to be when this problem was introduced. It remains a mystery to me that, with all the expense and delays at both ends, they would ask the customer to return the player in circumstances where they can instead simply fall back to a previous release - this isn't rocket science.......
