Rush Hour 3 US BD still playable on Region B PS3s? - Blu-ray Forum

Is this still valid?

From what you said, it seems as though you've tried it already, so why would you ask if this is still 'valid'????

If you can do the trick and end up being able to watch it, then yes it still works
