Default Movies that were left open for a sequel but never got one.

This one technically counts because the reboot was written originally as a sequel, Hulk. I like how it ended with Banner
[Show spoiler]in South America and the rebels come in and then he tells them in Spanish, "Don't Make Me Angry, You Won't Like Me When I'm Angry!" And then we zoom out as his eyes turn green and you see the little green frog on his hat and the green parrot and then it zooms out and you see the trees and then it fades to green as the Hulk is yelling
, that was a good ending.

Anyone know of any others films that were left open but no sequel?

He-Man is one. Skelator saying he will be back, but only after the Blu release.

God I loved 80's action films like this. (I as only 12)

Now how do I get the image to appear?

Eric Bana was great as Bruce Banner unlike stupid Ed Norton.

I disagree, I thought Ed Norton brought alot more to the film then Bana. Anyway, The golden compass is very unlikely to get a sequal and Hellboy may not get a third part.

There was an internet chat with Bruce Willis that stated this much. It was going to pick up when Mr. Glass gets out/escapes from the mental institution.

I really wanted this to happen. Then M. Night wouldn't have made The Village or Lady in the Water. Or The Happening either.

That dragon flick Eragon - wasn't it intended as a trilogy? I believe I read that it didn't do well enough to continue. They never even got to develop the bad guy (John Malcovich, wasn't it? It wasn't a very memorable movie).

That's the one I thought of too, but you brought up some other interesting ones (e.g., Big Trouble In Little China).

Nightbreed is based on the novela Cabal which was supposed to be a trilogy. Clive Barker has never (as far as I know) written the other two stories. Speaking of which, Clive Barker needs to get around to finishing his series books. He started The Great and Secret Show and then wrote Everville, but then hasn't written the third book yet. He wrote Galilee which is supposed to be a trilogy and hasn't finished it. He wrote two books of the Abarat Quartet and hasn't finished that either. I don't know how many movies he has tried to start or even talked about that never came to be. There was supposed to be a sequel to Lord of Illusions and that never happened either.
