Default New STAR TREK Movie: A New Beginning?

I think so. I anticipate a whole new series of movies coming out after this release. There is no reason to go forward or backwards in time anymore to wring every last drop of Star Trek Possibilities out to a starving sci-fi public. We really needed a good series of movies like this with a consistent format and cast.

Just when I thought they had pretty much killed the franchise...

Tada!!! The perfect time frame to continue a whole new slew of great sci-fi Star Trek action films.

Do you think this is only the beginning? Or not...

Don't we already have a thread discussing the potential sequels?

I think they'll definitely do a sequel, who knows after that. I'm pretty stoked though, I've never seen any of the older movies/TV shows other than one of Patrick Stewarts newest ones, but I definitely enjoyed the new movie (expecially in Imax!)

Hopefully we see more

Yea, but I think it's a requirement to have at least 10 random threads on each new movie coming out.

Yes, more of these with new, more exciting, less campy storylines! I absolutely loved this movie. Forgetting about TDK, because it wasn't a surprise at all, I haven't been this surprised by a movie since Transformers.

Saw Star Trek on Monday and it was excellent! Best movie so far this year! Looks like they will need to raise the bar on the sequel.

Isn't that always the case? I mean I don't think anyone wants them to lower the bar!

Of course! This is why they casted young actors who are mostly no-names when it comes to film. Seriously, no way any of these guys are going to decline a future movie because non of them are used to the kind of cash they will get paid. Kind of like Toby McGuire .. what the heck is he going to do after Spider Man to net that kind of cash? Nothing!
