'Private Shopping Event' at Best Buy - Blu-ray Forum

I just received an invitation to a 'private shopping event' for this coming Sunday (May 17) at BB for Reward Zone members. I've never been to one, so is this worthwhile? I'm assuming there will be deals on certain equipment, but are there also deals on Blu-ray discs as well? (I don't need/want any new equipment at the moment.)

I have gotten invites to these before....its usually just a little sale on certain items, nothing that really ever made me go to them

I got an invitation too.

I've heard that they're pretty much a waste of time. The invitation says they will be giving more RZ points for purchases, and that's about it.

I just got upgraded to Silver last week.

No invite for my area...

Been to these before. It's a good place to stock up on free cokes and chips. Oh and the semi-cultish group employee applause that they give you when you enter is kinda entertaining too.

I went to the last one they had. Nothing amazing. Although I was able to buy Hancock and The Police: Certifiable on Blu before the official street date (at full retail Price). I kept my receipt and got them to price match weeks later on both discs. So I guess it wasn't so bad.

If there are no Blu Ray deals at the event...then I’m out.

These events are typically worthless to attend. It would be different if they gave you something but usually they have these pointless demonstrations.

Just got back from my local BB event. Got a free mini mouse, free Sunchips, candy and Vitamin water. Also pricematched some Fry's blu-rays for $9.99 each. When I went to the checkout the cashier tried to charge me for the Sunchips lol before I explained to her they were free.

Also there was a flier/coupon at checkout for 10% off purchases up too $1000 with their typical exclusions for another sale they are having on 5/31.
