I am between saying Coupling (the original British version) or Family Guy... either of the two are great!

All time favorite would probably be The Cosby Show. Current favorite would probably be The Office, although it has been going downhill for a while and The Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock might be in the discussion. If you consider Chuck a comedy that would probably be my favorite.

Edit: Somehow forgot about Seinfeld, which would probably be my favorite ever. Cosby Show would be my favorite 80s/early 90s comedy.

I love comedy so I have lots of choices

Real-life:
- Scrubs
- How I Met Your Mother
- Arrested Development
- Reaper
- Undeclared
- The Chappelle Show

Animated:
- Futurama
- Family Guy
- South Park
- The Simpsons

If I had to cut it to only one, Futurama would be my choice.

Best comedy show currently airing would be Reaper. (followed by South Park)

Ever?

Seinfeld.

Now?

Probably How I Met Your Mother (even though it's not really that funny), but that nerdy show before it is giving it a run for its money.

all time has to be "Seinfeld" for me. it may have been "Arrested development" if that stayed on longer as the potential was there, every episode had moments of burst out loud brilliance.

"Curb your Enthusiasm" is up there as well.

Mini series: "Extras"

What's on now/recent: "The Office" was but now "30 Rock" has better consistency and is still fresh.

Negative: I consider "Friends" to be the most overrated sit com of all time and make a face like I smelled a fart when I see the boxed set a someone's house because I'm a bit of a judgmental prick.

It's always Sunny is a pretty good one that is still running. Obviously you can't go wrong with Seinfeld, Arrested Development or Married with Children. All greats.

My favorite animated ones are South Park and Futurama for sure.

P.S. I hate Family Guy!

+1 I HATED this when it came out, I was probably like 12, then as I got older I started to watch and now ABSOLUTELY LOVE SEINFELD!

But growing up it would probably be Married with Children, one of my favorite episodes is when Al builds his own toilet in the garage. PRICELESS!!

But Freaks and Geeks is a close second, even though it only lasted one season!

Wasn't Seth Grogan and a lot of other actors I see now in other projects on that show?

Judging from your sitcom tastes, that seems odd. Great show; had some great comedic moments.
