Default Pixar, the best production company ever...discuss

im watching wall-e right now which i think is amazing. Looking back every single pixar film iv seen was phenominal and i anticipate UP being just as good. What other production group have matched the success of pixar, i mean not one single bad movie. Anyone........Buler....Buler

PIXAR as had one incredible run. I would say the only movie they've made so far that was a bit of a disapointment to me was Ratatouille.

Pixar is on a different level, and are certainly making a run for history. I wonder sometimes if John or Ed ever take a look at Bambi, The Three Caballeros and Fantasia, and wonder if they could make sustained films without taut, focused narratives. The fierce devotion to story has surely put their modern competitors to shame, but I'm not sure if they can be called the "best of all time" when they haven't really tried to tackle any abstract, non-linear material in the mode of Fischinger, Disney or Miyazaki. I can't tell you how excited I was in Ratatouille to see Remy's joy of smell expressed in Fantasia-Intermission-esque color and moving form. Can Pixar make films like Fantasia, Caballeros, My Neighbor Totoro? No doubt they could. Question is, I suppose, is if they should. Until then, I'm more tempted to compare them to the Termite Terrace boys than I am the ecelectic Disney studio under Walt, or the more theme-and-character centric films of Miyazai.

Thing is, this medium of CGI feature animation is so young, there's no telling what we'll be seeing when people grow tired of the funny talking animal shtick. People will eventually ask, is there more? It will be interesting to see how the CGI studios answer that question.

I know it's a bit strange, there was something that just did not grab me. My friend keep's telling me to give it a try in BD. I might do it. It's very strange for me not to love a PIXAR movie.

The team working at Pixar is truly the most talented group of people working in film today. Their films are always so creative and colorful and the characters they come with are brilliant.

Other than Cars, I have loved every Pixar feature. Last Year, Wall-e blew me away, the film was so close to being my favourite movie of '08. I can't wait for "Up" this year but it looks to continue Pixar's amazing track record.

All hail Pixar

I hope that one of their films will soon get a Best Picture win at the Oscars. They deserve it as much as anyone.

No doubt Pixar has been on an incredible run. I assume Up will continue the streak but I'm not as excited about it as the others.

They really deserve it, but it's not gonna happen. The Academy made a special category so that animated films wouldn't be nominated for the 'normal' categories. I hope they will reverse that, because now you have crap like Monsters Vs. Aliens being nominated because there are like three animated features released in a year.

after wathing the documentary about pixar on disc 2 of of wall-e it has made me appreciate so much more what they are doing over there at pixar. Anyone who hasnt seen it NEEDS to check it out. Disney could have sold this as an individual disc no problem. As for a pixar film being nominated for best picture, i dont see why not. Theres no reason why a movie cant be nominated and win in the best picture and the best animated picture. Right?

I'm impressed with Pixar's work. I've enjoyed all of their films. Up should be another big money maker for them.

that's because they have always said their movies are story driven not technology driven. they use their technology to enhance their stories. and so far their stories have all pretty much been great. just like with Up being in 3D, they said they did not want to use palor tricks to show off the 3D, they used it to enhance the story. ergo pixar is one of the gereatest production companies ever.

Weird, someone else that actually likes Cars.

I'd put them in this order

Toy Story
Wall-E
Cars
Incredibles
Finding Nemo
Monsters Inc.
Toy Story 2
Ratatouille
A Bug's Life
