Question Has anyone got an early copy of True Romance?

If so, how is the PQ,AQ and, extras? Does it still have an audio commentary buy Q. Tarantino & Tony Scott?

it's Tony Scott.

he and tarantino each have their own commentary on the two disc, and arquette and slater had one together.

not sure if they're carrying over just wanted to clear that up.

In case you haven't seen it, there is a review on this website for the BD.

This review makes me sad this is in my top 3 favorites of all-time and have been waiting for over a year for this, but I will still be picking it up!

I preordered this during the WBSHOP B2G1 sale. This is one of my favorite movies ever and as it is a lesser known film I doubt it will get any kind of "real" remaster anytime soon. The BD screenshots definitely look like an upgrade from DVD so I will be happy.

Yeah that's sounds like a bummer. I'll still get it though.

Or you read the review from HTF. He's a lot more positive about it than the reviewer here.

I did this as well, so I guess even though it seems like this will be a reatively disappointing transfer I can take solace in the fact that I got it free.

No, you paid the total price divided by 3. =P But it's still less than I paid for the DVD.

Got it yesterday. Definite upgrade from the DVD, I'm not all that disappointed in it. I do miss the ultra cool cover art from the 2 disc DVD set, though. This new blu-ray edition just recycles this super lame VHS cover with Christian Slater holding a gun.

This is what I would have liked:

This is what we got instead:

Don't let the review discourage you. I am watching the BR on my 150" CRT projector and it looks amazing. There is strong film grain and it looks way better than my DVD. Of course it doesn't look like Dark Knight or anything, but as a fan of this movie I am very pleased.

That's actually a good thing in my book (not sure how you meant it). Indicates there isn't excessive DNR, at least.

I feel the same way. I love the pachaging of the 2 disc DVD. I will keep the DVD for the packaging. I will be picking up on the BluRay soon though. This movie is in my top ten list of favorite movies. Even better TR is now $9.99. Yeehaaa

For those of you who have upgraded to the BD , would you just stick with the SD DVD if you could go back and do it again?
