$55 is reasonable. I pay about $50 for a single blu-ray here in Japan. Play-asia's Monster's Inc. is reasonable I think but the quick expedited shipping will cost you another $25. It's quick as hell though, takes less than 24 hours to get to my home in Japan. If you're in the states it'll probably get to you in three days.

www.play-asia.com
www.yesasia.com

Both are English sites and reliable.

You might be able to get it from www.hkflix.com, I think they are in the USA.

I ordered it about 5 days in advance of the release date from amazon.jp. It was $58, and was shipped to me on the actual release date.

YesAsia is based out of the United States and adds a considerable markup to titles since they buy in bulk and bring it into the US.

DDDHouse is based out Hong Kong and offers local HK pricing and shipping is kept low because you are paying local HK shipping pricing.

The other thing is that prices in Japan are considerable higher than Southeast Asia and China. Japanese Blu-ray Discs can be anywhere from $35 to $65 US. Hong Kong Blu-ray Discs can sell for between $18 to $45.

I can confirm the crazy shipping as well. I got an email from Amazon.jp on Saturday saying it shipped that day and got it in yesterday (Monday) via Fedex. The shipping estimate had it for Wednesday!

By the way, the disc looks and sounds phenominal, but the Japanese menus can be a bit frustrating. I just start the movie and adjust audio/subtitles using the buttons on the remote rather than the menus.

Could not wait until the fall? I am tempted but I read Japanese so I think I will wait.

These are incorrect. The actual audio specs are:
English DTS-HD MA 6.1 ES Matrix
Japanese DTS ES 6.1 Matrix
