Default Galaxy Quest "well F*** that!"

I don't know if this has been posted before but has anyone noticed at the 1:17:06 mark when Sigourney Weaver and Tim Allen run into the metallic chompers she mouthes "Well F**K! that!" but what we hear is "well SCREW that!"

I just thought that was funny.

Yeah, people get in a tizzy thinking that it was changed.

It's actually part of the joke.

Hopefully when it comes to Blu-Ray we get the proper shifting aspect ratios.

According to IMDb, the film was originally envisioned as a PG-13 sci-fi comedy/drama, with much more emphasis on the darker aspects (such as crewmen dying) than what is in the final, PG-rated version, and one of the clues to this is the dubbing over of Sigourney Weaver's line "Well f*** that!" to "Well screw that!". IMHO it pushes the envelope of what then constituted PG as it is.

I noticed it on VHS back in the day. I guess they wanted to make sure they got the PG-13 rating.

I know this thread is over a decade old, but I am certain that when I saw GQ in the cinema when it was originally released, we actually heard "f**k" and not "s**w". Others swear that they heard "s**w" in the cinema, so perhaps what I saw was a tougher New Jersey cut (where I was living at the time).

Are you familiar with The Mandela Effect?

Anyway, there has never been a version of Galaxy Quest shown to the public that contained the f-word. Not in New Jersey or anywhere else.

Yeah, I remember the dub when I saw it in theaters. It got a big laugh, and I think it was obvious to everyone what she was originally saying.

From what I read years ago the film started out as a R-rated adult comedy but during production they decided to switch gears and started playing up the comedy more and altering it for a family audience. Which was probably a good idea.

"Oh, f**k that" is actually in the script, must've been dubbed out.
https://sfy.ru/?script=galaxy_quest just Ctrl+F search for the word.

Amazon Prime Members should watch Galaxy Quest: Never Surrender, the cast & director discuss it in detail.
