Default Spider-Man Trilogy OOS?

I'm wondering what's going on with the Spider-Man Trilogy boxset. Amazon isn't selling it anymore, only thru 3rd party sellers, (including gohastings), so I'm wondering if a new box set is in the works with extras for the first two movies. And if so, I don't wanna buy the current set if a better one is coming out later.

Anybody heard of anything like that?

the spiderman 2 that came with my box set had 2.1 on it. I dont know if thats what you are talking about or not. I could see them selling them separately. Maby a way for them to make more$$$. Prob about mid Dec Frys was selling box set movies for $24.99 I picked up spiderman and residant evil. I should of picked up X-men when I had the chance.

Maybe they just got rid of all the sets because the series was cancelled in favor of a reboot?

I've been keeping an eye out on this for about a month or so! I emailed Amazon about it and they don't know when they will sell them again!

Spider-Man and SM2 doesn't even have a release date by themselves!

I actually thought it was already OOP, only because no new ones have popped up locally for awhile. The Target exclusive (all three movies in one case) is definitely OOP because when I bought mine, there were none on eBay, and there were only two left at the store. I don't even think eBay has any still (Target exclusive).

No, that's NOT what I was talking about. I'm perfectly aware of what the contents of this box set are: Spidey 1, Spidey 2/2.1, and the 2-disc Spidey 3. My question and many other folks' question is, why didn't the first two films have their special features discs along with them, as the DVD versions did. I thought that point was perfectly clear in my intitial post, but I digresss.

So my question is really, why would a major trilogy like this go OOP so soon? I mean, I can pick up a used copy from gohastings for about $40 or so, but I was wondering if I should hold off if they're coming out with a new and improved box set.

I've seen Star Trek TOS Seasons 1,2, & 3 drop off of Amazon but available from 3rd party before but it came back. It might just be a temporary thing. Walmart doesn't show it online either but Best Buy does. It would have been nice if Spider-man 1 & 2 at least included trailers on them. I wouldn't even mind the twin towers trailer from the first Spider-man to be included.

Yeah they probably will restock it soon when they get more copies. As for the 1st 2 movies at least we get Spider-Man 2.1 so I guess that's a better extra and probably the best extra in the whole set.

We'll definitely get double dips for the remake maybe separate releases.

Speaking of the Target version, I'm looking for a mint or near-mint slipcover for mine. If anyone has one they'd like to get rid of for a few bucks, please PM me.

Been waiting for this set to drop in price in AMZ UK also, it shows that a while ago it was one of the 17.99 pounds boxsets too...

Hopefully they'll rerelease it chock full of new bonus features instead of the bare bones version in the box set. Either that or release them separately. I have been waiting for that for quite some time.

I would have to agree as well. Despite others suggesting they won't won't sell the current trilogy because of the reboot (which if you think about it doesn't make any sense[no offense to those who threw that out there]) but when they do come out with a new Spider-man movie that would be a good time for a new version (maybe even with a free movie ticket or something to the rebooted spiderman).
