FYI, I had major issues playing the PAL suppliments on Withnail and I, and the Region B suppliments on Sleeping Beauty using AnyDVD & Arcsoft. Any PAL content was all scrambly like super bad TV reception and over saturated with red, while the Region B stuff on Sleeping Beauty, the audio was way out of synch with the video, unless I didn't view it in fullscreen. The movies, however, played fine. It was only the bonus features that acted wonky.

Arcosft and cyberlink have the best programs. Choose either one and you won't go wrong.

Cyberlink has far too much useless additional content these days (some of which you can't even disable!) - a lot of online orientated stuff, I used to like PowerDVD but it went bad after v4 & even worse later on
I use ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum although for 3D support you'd be better off getting version 5. I much prefer 3's UI though as v5 makes a few facepalm worthy decisions & chooses style over usability which is a shame as I wouldn't mind upgrading but now have to consider swapping back & forth Still waiting for a program that does NOT go into Windows Basic everytime a bluray starts ![]() Last edited by backslashio; 08-08-2011 at 07:07 PM. |

Arcsoft appears to have some issues with subtitles once in a while (only Disney titles so far), PowerDVD is a bit harder to get to work with my remote and it doesn't play HD-DVD's after version 7.3... |

I chose to use Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 but I am having some issues because I've only recently started watching blu-ray discs on the computer. Certain movies that I own like avatar and die another day work fine with the player but other movies I have tried like Spiderman 1and casino royale don't seem to work, causing the program to stop working. Is there any reason for this and a solution for this problem? My hardware is fine with a Sandy bridge processor and GTX 560. I've tried PowerDVD 11 Ultra which plays them but the picture quality doesn't seem to be as good.
As well, if anyone knows, how do improve blu-ray picture quality in the nvidia control panel? What settings do I change in the 3d program settings? Also if anyone has ever used the logitech x-540 speakers, how do you set up surround sound when playing a movie? When I turn on matrix mode, dialogue in movies becomes very quiet, I guess because the content is not stereo. |

I could rephrase my question. I'm using Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 and the movies I own produced by columbia pictures like Casino Royale and Spider-man 1 don't work. Is there a reason thay don't work and how can I fix it? There not the newest movies and I havethe latest patch installed.

As for the quiet audio, click on AV center & make sure the right sound card is detected as well as the output mode & adjust dynamic range compression if required Last edited by backslashio; 08-11-2011 at 05:56 PM. |

I just installed a new LG Internal Blu-ray disc rewriter BH12 on my Computer and it plays jerky somewhat. I have a Intel i7 4 core 920 2.67 GHz , 6 GB Ram,
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT with just updated drivers, Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. I am playing on PowerDVD 11 Ultra. Any ideas on why it is doing this? Settings in PowerDVD. Thanks before I return and get a external one. |
