20th Century Fox Gorilla At Large (1954) [No 3D Blu-ray]

Announced for 2016/2017.

Currently unknown whether it'll be in 3-D or not. I'm hopeful.

Has to be in 3D from Twlight Time. Who would pay $29.99 for a 3D title in 2D?

Here's hoping, they did release Man in the Dark in 3D but that came from Columbia/Sony, depends on whether Fox has put in the effort.

No 3D = No buy though. I have no nostalgia for this release so it's based solely on supporting and enjoying vintage 3D films. As a 2D film, it would pose no interest me to over the many other 2D films of that era getting released.

I will totally buy this if it's in 3D. Like Inferno, it holds sentimental value for me because I remember watching it on TV in red/blue 3D on a local TV station as a kid. I don't remember anything about it and I'm sure it's probably not particularly good, but I don't care.

I saw this when i was kid and "Gorilla at large" was a new movie. I guess I'll get it, if I'm still here.LOL

I'm not interested in this film on blu-ray unless it's in 3-D.

Hopefully, it's done that way.

would Panamint be another possibility?

Perhaps Inferno sold quite well.

Gorilla at Large Trailer.

Looks entertaining. If the 3D is strong, I'll be interested.

Starring:
Raymond Burr (Perry Mason)
Anne Bankcroft

The 3-D - as usual for any Golden Age title - is VERY strong.

It's also a widescreen film - 1.66:1.

Fox does not currently have a 3-D master and whether they spend the money to scan the 35mm elements to create one is going to be based on interest and sales potential.

I strongly recommend posting to Fox rep James Finn and let him know that you are only interested in a Blu-ray release if it is in the original 3-D version and NOT the inferior red/green anaglyphic conversion done for TV syndication circa 1980.

Gorilla at Large 3D. I'll have to write an email to let them know it's in demand on blu ray 3D.

Contacted! Thanks for that!

It takes nothing to fire off a quick e-mail if you want things badly enough. I skipped most of the info and it still went through.

I did the same.

I'd pay a premium price for this in real 3D but I have no interest in a 2D or anaglyph 3D release.

Thanks. If they get enough requests for it, someone at Fox may begin to pay attention to the demand.

Gorilla At Large 3D looks like an entertaining movie and Rob Furmanek of 3-D Film Archives http://www.3dfilmarchive.com suggested it has very strong 3D.

sent in my request. As I understand it, this is Fox's only remaining 3-D film in need of a transfer.

We were lucky to get Inferno. If they can finance a 3-D master for Gorilla at Large they'll have done their bit for posterity, and their vintage 3-D library will be complete.

I'm very eager to see this movie in 3-D. It's right up near the top of my list.

The home video rights to Gorilla at Large are currently with TT.

The best way to encourage a GAL 3-D Blu-Ray is to purchase vintage 3-D titles from TT like Man in the Dark and Miss Sadie Thompson.

Thanks Revgen. Above is TT's website listing their releases. How were you able to find the Rights owner? Thanks.
They have a sale going on now for their movies, and they discuss Man in the Dark 3D in their News section. I'll have to contact them also about Gorilla At Large blu ray 3D.

The information was passed along to HTF Reviewer Matt Hough at a meeting with TT. The information came directly from, TT's CEO Nick Redman.

Here's a link to Matt's post.
