Default Panasonic BD-35 and BD-60 issues

I just picked up Crank 2 and tried to play it in both my BD-35 and BD-60 players. They would both try and load the disc. In the process of trying to load, it would display a white screen with a back 1/2inch by 1/2inch square at the top left of the screen. It would get past that, and then would pull up the loading bar in the middle of the screen. If anyone has the movie they know that is goes from green to yellow and then to red. It would get stuck on the first square of red. Shortly after, the movie would start to play in a 2" by 2" square in the middle of the screen. I though that it was just the 35 player needing to be updated, so I grabbed it and ran the update to 2.0 I belive. I tried it again and still the same problem. I then put it into my 60 player and the same thing happend in it. I updated it to 1.9 I belive, and it still didn't change anything. I called Panasonic this morning and talked to one of their tech support guys. He said that it is an issue with the disc. I asked him if it was just a problem with the Panasonic players and that disc and he said no, that it is a wide spread problem with all players. He said that they are working on a firmware update, but they have no time frame as to when it will be availabe. I told him then I basically wasted 30 buck because I can't return the disc since I have opened it. Now all of my equipment is Panasonic and I was not really happy about the way that they are treating the problem. Am I the only one that is having this problem? Is it something that is Panasonic specific, or widespread? Any help or input would be great.

It's not the player. The disk requires a memory card to install a Java update before it will play.

Yes, you need an SD card. All I have is a 1gb card and that is the minimum recommended for BD Live.
I didn't have a problem with Crank 2 on my bd35. It has the SD card installed, but it is not connected to a network.

The problem is not your player, it is the disc. Unfortunately, the disc requires an update before it plays properly. Any profile 2.0 player that doesn't have internal memory built-in, is having this problem. You're not alone in this. The reported cure has been, as mentioned, putting a min. 1GB SD card in the memory card slot on the player. This will allow the disc to update, or in the case the player in not connected to the internet, think it's done the update, and play the movie properly.

I absolutly love the tv. I had a pz800u before the v10. The v10 has so many more features the u. The color acuracy is pretty good with the thx on, but it still needs to be calibrated. Haven't had it but three weeks. Overall it is a fantastic tv. Pretty thin too. The one pane of glass across the front is what really sets this tv off.

It's not Panasonic's problem though. It's the fault of the disc authors I believe.
