Once people start talking about copying the coupons and posting links to site with coupon scans, the threads get closed.

What happened to our freedom of speech?
If it's really that strict around here I fear for our country!

It's funny how they will close these threads but then the people who are ripping off the rebate by buying and returning the Lost Season Blu-rays are fine.

They are not "ripping off the rebate"....the rebate processors are too dumb to realize when they have legitimately purchased the necessary items, and will look for any reason to reject a claim....the fact that they want receipts that "originate from the same state" is absurd, plus Amazon does not provide regular-type register receipts that you would get from a Walmart/Best Buy/Target B&M store.....

So just to be clear, by your logic, even though a customer has previously purchased both Seasons 1 and 2 of Lost on DVD, they should NOT be entitled to the mail-in rebates included with the BDs of Seasons 1 and 2 of Lost just because they bought them from Amazon? They should be punished because they chose to buy from an online store and not some local B&M store??

So they are deliberately ignoring the rules of the rebate? That sounds like you are ripping them off to me.

Exclamation YMMV is NOT a deal

The problem is that people confuse a deal, which is the $5.00 coupon, with Price Matching and other coupons that should not be combined, and are, but YMMV.

A hot deal is Fry's having a brand new blu-ray release on Tuesday for $14.99, even though the closest Fry's for me it's 350 miles away. A hot deal is NOT having Best Buy Price Match Amazon (which is NOT in their policy) and try to get a competitor's coupon applied.

Hope this helps!

It's not a freedom of speech issue, as this is a privately run site, and the owners are free to set whatever rules they wish. You obviously were not around a year or so ago when the coupon scamming got so bad that new rules had to be established. Agree or not, conterfeit coupons are illegal, and could get you in trouble with the law. More importantly for this site, if it does not actively try to stop the spread of this kind of practice, then some lawyer "could" attempt to sue blu-ray.com for complicity or something.

So, is it really worth the risk to this site to allow this kind of nonsense to continue?

How is this thread a hot deal? I love the coupon threads, but once the lines are crossed...the mods have to close them. As long as you take the coupons (original condition) to the store and they are accepted then there's nothing else to it. Believe me...the mods here like saving money too. JWB gave a warning on the Target $5 off "Megathread" and someone probably chose to ignore it.

Ok....

Posting the link to the coupon is not against the rules. Since Target put them up and want you to go print them out.

But, obviously, they don't want you to print out more than 2. So anyone printing out more than 2 (either making photocopies or from other IPs/Computers) are breaking the forum rules. You know that's cheating Target.

Also people bragging about covering up the Transformers 2 picture. Regardless (must be said twice....regardless!) of what words are on the coupon and how covering the picture isn't hurting anything, photo manipulations of coupons is against the forum rules.

There may be more but that's the main 2.

So to recap, stop talking about making copies or using more than 2 coupons and stop talking about covering the TF picture. Keep these to yourself and the threads won't be closed.

I guess a good question might be what more do we have to say about the coupons? I think by now we all know about them and how to use them and where to find them. I don't really know what else there is to be said about them that people don't already know, so closing the threads shouldn't be a huge deal.
