Once people start talking about copying the coupons and posting links to site with coupon scans, the threads get closed.

I think if Target is actually posting the coupons at their own website, there is no reason why a link to the coupon should be taboo. My own opinion a' course...

Agreed, but there is an issue with people altering the coupon apparently. I printed mine off the Target site.

Let's break this down:

1. If someone wanted, they could obtain any number of the same coupon by any number of means. One way is to print the coupon from different machines/IP addresses. Another is photocopying. Another is using Photoshop to put multiple coupons on one sheet, then cutting them out.

2. The coupon only states one per transaction. Not one per person, or one per visit. Heck, the barcodes are all the same. One per transaction, so someone could use as many as they want as long as it follows the coupons' stated guideline.

So, because of that, I don't see a problem with talking about multiple coupon usage or creation. Linking to a scan of the coupon is one thing, as I'm sure Target.com has a limit on how many one computer or IP address can print, so that's circumventing it in a very direct way, and likely in a way that's outlawed by forum rules.

So, open up them threads but delete the posts of those criminals!

How is this thread a hot deal? I love the coupon threads, but once the lines are crossed...the mods have to close them. As long as you take the coupons (original condition) to the store and they are accepted then there's nothing else to it. Believe me...the mods here like saving money too. JWB gave a warning on the Target $5 off "Megathread" and someone probably chose to ignore it.

Ok....

Posting the link to the coupon is not against the rules. Since Target put them up and want you to go print them out.

But, obviously, they don't want you to print out more than 2. So anyone printing out more than 2 (either making photocopies or from other IPs/Computers) are breaking the forum rules. You know that's cheating Target.

Also people bragging about covering up the Transformers 2 picture. Regardless (must be said twice....regardless!) of what words are on the coupon and how covering the picture isn't hurting anything, photo manipulations of coupons is against the forum rules.

There may be more but that's the main 2.

So to recap, stop talking about making copies or using more than 2 coupons and stop talking about covering the TF picture. Keep these to yourself and the threads won't be closed.

I guess a good question might be what more do we have to say about the coupons? I think by now we all know about them and how to use them and where to find them. I don't really know what else there is to be said about them that people don't already know, so closing the threads shouldn't be a huge deal.

Some target employees will say that the coupon is only good for transformers 2, so it saves you from hassling with them. I only had a problem with it once.
