With so many different ways to communicate, are we just to impersonal now?
So I have a friend that came back into town after being away for a while. I texted him last night to let me know if he would be busy tonight or if he wanted to hang out. He texted back that he would no longer be replying to texts and that he's not trying to be mean but he always makes an effort to call me so I should do the same. Well, I text my wife, I text my brother, all my other friends, he is not that important so I didn't know what to say. If I can text my wife I think I can text anyone. She's fine with it and so is everyone else I text. I can understand him to a point but I don't think in this day and age a simple text message in different from a call. I'm constantly on my Blackberry texting, emailing, and on the messenger. In fact I do that more than making actual calls. So is this just to impersonal or is that just the trend now? Just curious. |
