question about cleaning lcd's

This may be a dumb question but what's the best way to clean the screen for an HDTV? I just finished mounting it and was forced to lay my hands all over the screen to get that beast up. Thanks in advance

I use Monster Screen Cleaner, you can get it at best buy for $20. It comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth. Works great. I use it for all my lcd t.v.'s and laptop.

Best product ever to clean up an LCD or Plasma! I have tried a couple of the wipes but this by far is the best with no streaks and no lint anywhere on the screen, highly recommended.

I use microfiber cleaning cloths with just a hint of water to wet them then another cloth to dry. Best cloths are from the Solutions catalog and are called "Miracle Cloth™".

i use that too... and i even got the small 2 pack for my camera bag... works great on lenses

I slightly dampened super absorbent paper towel will do. (like Bounty)
It doesn't tear easily and it doesn't leave any residue behind.
No need to waste money on any kind of fabric.

The only problem with paper towels is they might leave scratches on the glass coatings that are on some of these screens, same reason why opticians and lens manufacturers say you shouldn't use tissues or paper towels to clean your glasses or lenses.

Microfiber cleaning cloths are pretty cheap these days, they even come free with some stuff and they are washable.

or if you can convince your girlfriend to give you her old microfiber panties as a rag.

Honestly, I wouldn't suggest paper towels unless I used them myself. Which I have for the past 5 years. I've been cleaning my LCD monitors and LCD tv's with them, and I've never scratched any of the LCD panels or protective screens.

But, that's just me.

The reason for not cleaning glasses with paper is that glasses are usually not glass. With lenses, paper can scratch the thin-film coatings (that correct for the different wavelengths of light), they don't scratch the glass itself. If it's glass and isn't coated, it's not a problem.

As for the panties, it depends on the type of fiber

pshh monoprice.com's cleaner is soooo much better. kidding. I use the monster microfiber thingy and cleaner too. I use it on my dlp, my lcd, my laptop, and even my camera lens its pretty damn good.
